Ofsted & Religious Inspections

The Governors and Head Teacher are extremely proud of the history of inspections at the school. The current Head Teacher, Ms Lennon, led the school through her first Ofsted inspection in November 2000 following her appointment in September 2000. The reporting inspector was Mr Peter Kemble and it was Good report indicating the school was on an upward journey. The school was next inspected in 2006 by reporting inspector Mrs Margot D’Arcy and was awarded the new top Ofsted grading of Outstanding. In 2009 the school was inspected and awarded Good, the reporting inspector was Colin Smith. In 2011 Ofsted re-visited the school and an inspection was led by HMI Mark Williams. The school was once again awarded the top grade of Outstanding.

During this period from 2000, the Head Teacher also led the school through five section 48 religious inspections. Under Ms Lennon’s leadership the school was first inspected for the standards in Religious Education in 2004. The school received a very good report with no key areas for improvement. In 2006 the school received a Good report. In 2009 the school was awarded the new top grade of Outstanding for its work and standards. In 2012 the school was inspected again and awarded Outstanding for the second time. In 2017 the school underwent the most recent religious inspection and the Governors and Head Teacher were once again delighted to receive a report grading the school Outstanding.

The Head Teacher is extremely proud of the inspection history at the school under her leadership. The dedication and commitment to drive up standards at the school has ensured the school has continued to improve. Since 2000 many projects and developments have been initiated and seen through to fruition and the school continues to go from strength to strength. During her leadership time at the school she has secured stability in the staffing and has been very well supported by a talented, knowledgeable and enthusiastic school team. A number of staff have journeyed with Ms Lennon throughout her leadership.
